Puppy Going Home Day
Monet's puppies "joining their new families" day is quickly approaching. Only three short weeks to go. With all the uncertainty going on with what is happening with this Coronavirus pandemic, all our puppies can rest assured that their lil bundles of joy will be kept safe. If there is a travel ban put in place around the time of pick up we will be more than happy to take care of these lil guys until their families are allowed to pick them up. I myself don't like not knowing what will happen in the near future, all we can do is accommodate our puppy families and try to make the process as less stressful as possible. We want to be sure that everyone stays safe and continues to do what is necessary to stay healthy.
Also I want to touch base on the new puppy viewing protocol we have set in place during this time. Typically we welcome visitors, but with how contagious this virus is, we will only do puppy viewings through video chats. We understand that this may inconvenience some people that are wanting to meet puppies in person, but the safety of our family and puppies will always come first. We are more than happy to stay on a video chat for as long as you need to make a decision. We can also provide you with photos of any puppy you are interested in. I am quite sure all of you understand our stand point on this and would appreciate how careful we are being. We are also trying to come up with a puppy pick up protocol if our puppy families will be allowed to pick up their puppies before the Coronavirus pandemic has been resolved. Once we have established how we will handle this we will inform our puppy families. The one good thing about this strain of Coronavirus is that it is not transferrable to dogs. People can not catch it from dogs or puppies, and dogs or puppies can not catch it from people.
Be Prepared For Your Puppy Before Bringing Him or Her Home
We do recommend to be prepared for when you bring your puppy home. With the state of minds most people are in right now, they are grabbing everything they can off the shelves at the stores. Thankfully we order most of our dog related items from Amazon.com or Chewy.com. With the state our country is in right now Shipments may run a bit longer, but if you are prepared you will have what you need when you need it. Your puppy will need to have an ample supply of Diamond Puppy Food (purple bag). Please try your absolute best to keep him or her on this food, as a drastic change will cause digestive issues which can cause your puppy discomfort, vomiting, and/or diarrhea. We also recommend getting your puppy either an exercise pen or crate for when you are unable to supervise your puppy. Many families have been places on work from home status, but there will be a time that going back to work will go back into effect. Toys, chews, and treats are also a must-have when you have a puppy in your home. If you will be spending more time at home during the Coronavirus outbreak, this makes for a great time to work on some training with your puppy. A collar and leash will also be needed. At some point you will be taking your puppy out for walks when he or she has finished their series of vaccinations. Leash training can be worked on in your home or backyard meanwhile. A metal greyhound comb and a slicker brush with bent metal bristles are the best grooming tools for your puppy. Never use a brush or comb made for a human on your puppy. These type of brushes are not made to handle a dog's coat. A human brush or comb just won't go through a dog's coat properly. You will want to be sure that you keep your puppy's ears clean, so a good ear cleaner with a drying agent should be added to your shopping list. These are the essentials. You can invest if beds and other extras if you like, but the things I mentioned are absolutely necessary when owning a dog.
Stay Safe Everyone
We hope all of you are staying safe and keeping your distance from everyone else. Social distancing is the only way right now that this virus is going to get under control. Too many people have suffered from this virus. Many families have lost loved ones far to early in their lives. We want you all to stay healthy and happy. Take care and if anyone has any questions about Monet's puppies we are always happy to speak with you. We have one girl and 4 (maybe 5, will update once we get an answer on one of the boys) available.
